I’m scared of failing at My Dream.
Have you ever felt that way?
I have a good friend who has a dream. He’s had this dream for years. Every year he says, “It’s time to make it happen!” Then something comes up, time, money, stress… Some rational reason he shouldn’t take action on his dream appears. So he puts his dream to bed for another year.
Has that ever happened to you?
There’s something you want to do, something grand, magnificent, even awe inspiring? Or perhaps it’s something simple. A dream that matters to you alone, that the rest of the world might not notice if it remains undone.
But for some reason you never take action on your dream!
Sure, you might start. But you never finish.
Why is that?
Fear.
Often the idea of a dream is so powerful that we’re afraid of losing it. That can translate into fear of taking action on your dream because of this insidious question, “What if I fail?”
Yeah? So what if you fail?
Who says failure means you must give up your dream? Failing just means you get to learn and try again!
How can I be that insensitive?
What’s more insensitive, to coddle someone who’s paralyzed by fear of failure or to encourage them to take action and learn from their mistakes?
Yeah, to coddle them!
Take a moment and examine your life. Are you letting your dreams slide past like a forest blurring past a car’s window, glimpsing them clearly for a mere second before they vanish behind you?
If you are, then have heart because you can choose to take action on your dreams! Through taking action you’ll grow, you’ll learn, and in time you’ll succeed where others only wish to succeed.
So ask yourself right now, “What small step can I take today to create my dream?”
Now Go Do It!
Tomorrow, ask yourself the same question. And Then Do It!
That’s your prescription for success!
Now Go Do It!
You Are The Master of Your Destiny!
